How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Saint-Georges

Saint-Georges rests within the quiet expanse of the Causse de Limogne, where the dry heat of midday brings the song of cicadas to the rolling hills. The landscape is defined by the gentle presence of the Ruisseau de Tapon and the distant, rugged Gorges de l'Aveyron. Nearby, the woodland of Grèze Grande offers a shaded retreat, while the Pech Cagnac rises on the horizon. Visitors may contemplate the somber Mémorial du Camp de Judes, explore the curious Phosphatières du Cloup d'Aural, or admire the architecture of the Collégiale Saint-Martin. It is a place of limestone and light, framed by the wilder nature of the Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy.
