How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Sauveterre

Sauveterre rests within the rolling hills of the Tarn-et-Garonne, where wheat and sunflowers sway under the dry heat of an Occitan sky. The landscape is defined by the gentle proximity of la Barguelonne and the distant, rugged silhouette of the Pech Grand. Nearby, the region reveals its character through the enduring stone of the Château de Marcillac and the silent, imposing Tour de Montcuq, which watches over the horizon. Beyond these, the vast Parc Naturel Régional des Causses du Quercy offers a sanctuary of limestone and open space, grounding the village in a quiet, timeless geography of earth and light.
