How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Mailhoc

Mailhoc sits gracefully within the rolling landscape of the Tarn, where fields of wheat and sunflowers stretch toward the horizon. The commune is nestled near the waters of the Réservoir de Fonrogue, while the river la Vère flows quietly through the nearby countryside. In this land of brick and pink terracotta, the air holds the dry heat of midday and the hum of cicadas. Visitors may explore the nearby Château de Saint-Hippolyte, wander the grounds of the Manoir de Lasbordes, or discover the industrial heritage preserved at the Vermicellerie, all while the distant silhouette of the Puech de Bar anchors the vast Occitan sky.
