How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Montrosier

Montrosier rests in a landscape of rolling hills where wheat and sunflowers thrive under the dry heat. The Ruisseau de Larroque winds through this quiet terrain, shadowed by the nearby Forêt de Grézelles and the distant Pech de Peloffe. Life here slows to the rhythm of cicadas at noon. In the wider countryside, one encounters the ancient Dolmen dit Peyrelevade, a silent witness to deep time, while the Commanderie des Templiers offers a glimpse into medieval stonecraft. Nearby, the Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue stands as a serene refuge, perfectly reflecting the limestone character of the surrounding land.
