Die Umgebung wird maßgeblich durch die Nähe zum Rhein geprägt, der nur einen kurzen Weg von den dörflichen Gassen entfernt behutsam dahinfließt. Ganz in der Nähe bewahrt das Naturschutzgebiet Mariannenaue eine eigene, unberührte Stille im Flusslauf.
