Rothspalk ist ein stilles Dorf, eingebettet in die sanft geschwungene Landschaft des Naturparks Mecklenburgische Schweiz und Kummerower See. Die Umgebung wird geprägt durch die Erhebung des Tabaksberg und den nahen Hütter Wald, in dem sich Licht und Schatten zwischen den Bäumen verlieren. Wanderer finden am Krebssee eine stille Rast nahe dem Naturschutzgebiet Wüste und Glase.
