Dahnen liegt geborgen in der sanften Hügelwelt des Islek, wo die dichten Bestände des Staatsforst Neuerburg die Landschaft prägen. Der nahe Bach Our zieht sich durch das Tal, unweit des Naturschutzgebietes Mittleres Ourtal zw. Dreiländereck und Rellesmühle, während der Hohe Kuppe die weite Aussicht bestimmt.
