OFFICIAL GERMAN MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Karte — basemap.de, Germany's official national map from the federal and state survey offices — and Topo — TopPlusOpen, the topographic map of the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), which continues seamlessly across the border. The search box finds any place in Germany or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid used on German topographic maps (zone 32 west of 12°E, zone 33 east of it) — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS / UTMREF reference — the format German mountain rescue works in — as plain UTM, and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
