Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid used on German topographic maps (zone 32 west of 12°E, zone 33 east of it) — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS / UTMREF reference — the format German mountain rescue works in — as plain UTM, and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Niederlahnstein rests where the landscape softens, cradled within the expansive greenery of the Naturpark Nassau. The river Lahn flows nearby, a quiet presence that dictates the rhythm of the valley. To the east, the slopes rise toward the Kühkopf, while the dense canopy of the Horchheimer Wald offers a retreat into the stillness of ancient timber. It is a place defined by the slow movement of water and the sheltered elevation of the hills, where the horizon remains defined by the gentle undulations of the regional terrain.
The town itself holds remnants of a storied past, anchored by the imposing silhouette of Burg Lahneck. Across the river, the elegant spires of Schloss Stolzenfels watch over the valley from their vantage point, while the ruins of the Historische 'Wache Schießstände' evoke the quiet gravity of time. Visitors often find themselves drawn to the Wirtshaus an der Lahn, a site that carries the weight of local memory. Niederlahnstein liegt geborgen in der sanften Topografie des Naturparks Nassau, wo die Landschaft durch die Nähe zur Lahn ihre ganz eigene Stille entfaltet. Die bewaldeten Hänge des Horchheimer Waldes umschließen den Ort und führen den Blick hinauf zum Gipfel des Kühkopf.
