Fumei rests upon the slopes of Monte Peiga and Costa Abrighi, a small village that maintains its own quiet rhythm within the comune of Perinaldo. The air here holds the crispness of the Ligurian hills, far from the busy coastline, where the land is defined by the proximity of the Fononte del Ferro and the nearby Tana di Ratapena. A short distance away, the Castello di Dolceacqua commands the landscape, while the Santuario della Beata Vergine Maria del Monte Carmelo offers a place of stillness.
