Montat is a quiet hamlet belonging to the comune of Montjovet, situated on the slopes of the Valle d'Aosta. The landscape is defined by the flow of the Dora Baltea and the presence of the Pian Salere summit, which casts long, sharp shadows across the valley floor as the afternoon light wanes. Among the stone buildings, the Casa Gotica di Montat remains a distinctive presence in the village. Nearby, the ruins of the Castello di Villa overlook the terrain, while the Castello di Verrès commands a view from its own rocky outcrop, reminding one of the defensive strength that once shaped these hills.
