Reading the map like an IGM sheet. Click Grid to lay a labelled UTM grid over the map, quoted along the edges the way a printed IGM 1:25 000 tavoletta quotes it — at normal zoom the squares are one kilometre across, so a six-figure reference can be read by eye and distance judged straight off the map. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance between them with the grid, true and magnetic bearings, the last being the one to set on a compass.

Valt is a frazione of Falcade, situated where the air feels sharpened by the proximity of the Valle di Gares and the Valle di San Pellegrino. The landscape is defined by the Torrente Biois, which cuts through the high mountain terrain near the slopes of Col De Limazei. The horizon is commanded by the Marmolada, while the nearby Serrai di Sottoguda offers a deep, dramatic gorge carved into the rock. Further afield, the Passo San Pellegrino and the Ghiacciaio della Marmolada define the rugged character of the Belluno province, where the light hits the stone with a stark, cold clarity.
