A short distance to the south-south-east, the 26 hectares of the Blindley Heath Sssi protect a rare mosaic of damp meadow and heathland, preserving a fragile botanical heritage that has resisted the encroaching pressure of modern transit. To the north-north-west, the quiet waters of The Lake catch the drift of passing clouds, providing a mirror for the surrounding oaks that stand in silent, sentinel rows.
