Much of the land here forms an integral part of the Staines Moor SSSI, where the pale, silvery light of the Thames Valley catches the tall grasses and reeds in a perpetual, shivering motion. Beyond these wilder stretches, the tranquil surface of Hithermoor Lake serves as a quiet mirror to the shifting clouds, offering a sense of depth to the flat, verdant terrain.
