It lies 1.9 miles west-north-west of Chorleywood (from Chorleywood: bearing 296°T, OS grid SU 995 975), and is situated south-south-west of Latimer village. The landscape here is defined by the underlying limestone, which catches the afternoon light and holds it against the darkening hedgerows. A short walk from the centre, Little Chalfont Nature Park offers a sanctuary of managed woodland where the air feels cooler and heavy with the scent of damp earth. Beyond the park’s boundary, the terrain slopes gently toward the River Chess, a chalk stream that carves a clear, cold path through the surrounding fields. The proximity of Latimer Park, with its vast expanse of historic grounds, provides a formal contrast to the wilder, unkempt corners of the valley floor.
