It lies 4.4 miles south-west of Nantwich (from Nantwich: bearing 215°T, OS grid SJ 610 467), and is situated east-south-east of Wrenbury-cum-Frith village. Sunlight here has a pale, watery clarity, often catching the silver-grey surface of Sales Brook as it winds its way through the nearby fields. The land feels ancient and heavy with moisture, nurturing the dense, shadowed canopy of Big Wood just a short distance to the south-west. Aston preserves a stillness that seems to belong to an older map, far removed from the sharp edges of modern industry. Hedgerows thick with hawthorn and elder mark the boundaries of these small, irregular enclosures, keeping watch over the slow passage of the seasons.
