Cromford emerges from the limestone shadows of the Derwent Valley as a monument to the restless ambition of the Industrial Revolution. It lies 1.8 miles north-north-east of Wirksworth (from Wirksworth: bearing 17°T, OS grid SK 294 568), and is situated south of Matlock Bath village.
