It lies 6.7 miles north-west of Wareham (from Wareham: bearing 314°T, OS grid SY 846 948), and is situated south-south-west of Winterborne Kingston village. The light here often gathers in the hollows, turning the damp earth of the Souls Moor and Bere Stream Nature Reserve into a shimmering, silvered expanse of reeds and flowing water.
