It lies 3.5 miles north-east of Beaminster (from Beaminster: bearing 44°T, OS grid ST 520 053), and is situated east of Chedington village. The sunlight here has a peculiar, translucent quality, catching the pale stone of the old buildings before slipping away into the deep folds of the countryside. To the east, the medieval stonework of Corscombe Court Barn stands as a silent witness to centuries of harvest and heavy labour. Beyond the immediate cluster of homes, the land rises sharply towards the rounded crest of Wood Fold Hill, where the wind carries the scent of damp earth and crushed grass. The terrain dips southward into Coombe Bottom, a lush, secluded hollow where the air remains still and heavy with the hum of insects.
