How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Prunet

Prunet rests within the Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche, defined by the winding Ruisseau de Revescut and the rugged contours of la Cham du Cros. The landscape is a mosaic of terraced hillsides where the scent of box and thyme rises after rain, sheltered by the shade of the Grand Bois. Nearby, the dramatic Pont du Diable spans the river, while the imposing Château de Joannas and Château du Bruget stand as silent sentinels over the valleys. The air here holds the weight of mistral-scoured ridges and the quiet memory of the old sheep tracks that crisscross these ancient slopes.
