How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Vanosc

Vanosc nestles within the rugged embrace of le Pilat, a landscape defined by the Ruisseau du Malbuisson and the deep, hushed greenery of the Bois de Barbelles. Here, the air carries the scent of box and thyme after rain, clinging to hillsides that watch over the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat. Visitors may seek the local history preserved at the Musée du charronnage au car, or wander near the stout stone walls of the Château de la Rivoire. In the distance, the silhouette of le Grand Felletin looms, a constant reminder of the wild, upland character that shapes this quiet corner of the Ardèche.
