How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Burdignes

Burdignes sits tucked within the high, rolling expanse of le Pilat, a commune defined by the quiet passage of the Ruisseau de la Masse and the surrounding woodland of les Pignes. Sheltered by the Parc Naturel Régional du Pilat, this landscape feels distant from the industrial valleys below, where winter fog often clings to the river light. A short journey leads the curious to the Château de la Rivoire, a stone sentinel overlooking the slopes, or to the quiet curiosity of the Musée du charronnage au car. Further afield, the imposing silhouette of le Grand Felletin dominates the horizon, offering a rugged contrast to the serene waters of the Lac du Ternay.
