How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Ferrussac

Ferrussac rests within the high, austere folds of the Haute-Loire, a landscape defined by dark stone and the hushed presence of the Forêt Domaniale d'Arlet. Here, the Ruisseau de Barreyres trickles through terrain shaped by ancient volcanic memory, while the silhouette of the Mont Mouchet rises on the horizon. Beyond the village, the land opens toward the rushing waters of l'Allier. Visitors may wander to the Abri préhistorique du Blot to touch the deep past, admire the enduring architecture of the Collégiale Saint-Gal, or seek the quiet elevation of the Peu Barnet, where the wind whispers across the rugged plateau.

À propos de Ferrussac
