How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Pébrac

Pébrac rests within the quiet, volcanic embrace of the Monts de la Margeride, where the landscape is etched by the Ruisseau de Digons and the nearby shadows of the Bois de Digons. This is a land of basalt stone and high pasture, where the air feels thin and sharp with the memory of hard winters. A short distance away, the l'Allier carves its path through the terrain. A visitor may wander through the silent ruins of les Chapelles or stand before the Abbatiale de la Nativité-de-la-Sainte-Vierge, whose dark stone tells the story of the plateau. Further afield, the Prieuré de Chanteuges watches over the valley.
