How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Petite-Chaux

Petite-Chaux sits nestled within the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura, a landscape defined by the quiet majesty of the Mont Risoux and the dark, stoic presence of the Forêt Domaniale du Noirmont. Here, limestone plateaux rise in ancient steps, shadowed by hard, bright winters and the scent of deep snow. Nearby, the waters of le Cébriot meander through the terrain, while the larger le Doubs flows through the wider countryside. Visitors might explore the Parc Polaire to encounter local fauna, wander near the Tourbières et Lacs de la Montagne Jurassienne, or seek the dramatic depths of the Gorges de Malvaux.
