OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Coyron rests upon the Plateau de Montciel, a quiet commune nestled within the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura. The landscape is defined by the proximity of the river l'Ain and the expansive waters of the Lac de Vouglans, shadowed by the dark firs of la Charne. Nearby, the limestone terrain offers secrets to the curious: the Grotte de Varoz hides in the karst, while the Marmites de l'Ain reveal the patient sculpting power of the river. Further afield, the haunting ruins of the Chartreuse de Vaucluse stand as silent witnesses to the region's ancient, meditative spirit.
