OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Maisod rests upon the Plateau de Montciel, a landscape defined by limestone steps and the deep, silent presence of the Forêt de Vaucluse. Nestled within the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura, the commune overlooks the waters of Lac de Vouglans, where the river l'Ain winds through the valley. Nearby, the ruins of the Chartreuse de Vaucluse offer a quiet reflection on solitude, while the nearby Plage de la Mercantine invites a closer look at the water’s edge. Further out, the ancient stones of the Sanctuaire gallo-romain du Pont des Arches reveal a forgotten history etched into this rugged, forested terrain.
