How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Carnoët

Carnoët rests within the verdant heart of Bretagne, a commune defined by the quiet rhythms of the inland bocage. Here, sunken lanes wind between ancient hedgerows, and the landscape is shaped by the gentle presence of l'Hyère. To the horizon, the heights of Mont Saint-Michel silhouette the sky, while the nearby Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique offers a sanctuary of gorse and heather. Visitors are drawn to the monumental stone figures at La Vallée des Saints, standing as silent sentinels over the fields. Nearby, the weathered stones of the Pont gaulois dit de Sainte-Catherine and the historic walls of the Château de Kerampuilh evoke the enduring spirit of this granite-hewn land.
