How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Mazzola

Mazzola sits nestled within the Pianiccia de Belle Magiocche, a rugged landscape defined by granite and the scent of immortelle. The Ruisseau de Pietra Grossa traces the slopes near the Piana woodland, while the Pointe de Tuberca looms high above the Col de la Foata. Tucked within the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, this village reflects a quiet life of chestnut forests and drystone walls. Nearby, the Citadelle de Corte offers a stony gaze over the valleys, while the Pont génois sur le Tavignano stands as a testament to ancient passage. Further out, the Phare d'Alistro marks the distant meeting of mountain and sea.
