How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Tarrano

Tarrano sits nestled within the granite heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, a quiet sanctuary where the scent of immortelle drifts through the Pianiccia de Belle Magiocche. The Ruisseau de Teghia traces the rugged slopes near the Col d'Arcarota, while high bare ridges define the horizon. Visitors may seek the silence of the Cathédrale Saint-Érasme or explore the remnants of a primitive sanctuary. Further afield, the Phare d'Alistro stands as a sentinel above the coastline. Here, the landscape of chestnut forests and drystone walls offers a profound sense of stillness, where the memory of mountains and maquis lingers in every shadow.
