How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Pietricaggio

Pietricaggio sits tucked within the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse, a realm of granite and dense maquis where the scent of immortelle hangs in the summer heat. This mountain village clings to the slopes of the Pianiccia de Belle Magiocche, looking out toward the Col d'Arcarota and the distant Rocher de Muteri. Below, the Ruisseau de Cipatorno carves through the landscape, feeding the quiet beauty of the chestnut forests. Nearby, the Cathédrale Saint-Érasme offers a silent, historic presence, while the rugged Citadelle de Corte stands as a sentinel of the interior, and the Retenue de l'Alesani provides a shimmering expanse of water amidst the high ridges.
