How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

Map search is available for a limited number of queries per session to manage costs. Be specific — search precisely for best results.

About Humberville

Humberville rests within the quiet expanse of the Haute-Marne, a landscape defined by the silent rhythm of cereal plains and the deep presence of les Moyemonts. The Cours d'Eau 01 du Coteau des Vignes traces the valley floor, while the distant rise of le Plémont defines the horizon. Nearby, the dramatic limestone hollow of le Cul du Cerf invites quiet contemplation. The wider countryside hides treasures of stone and memory: one might wander the weathered ruins of the Château de Lafauche, seek the remnants of the Abbaye royale Saint-Nicolas de Septfontaines, or stand before the enduring walls of the Château de Reynel.
