OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Chaltrait lies nestled within a landscape where vine-combed slopes meet the quiet, wooded crests of the Marne. The village sits near the Bois d'Argensolle, a silent stretch of forest, while the Cours d'Eau 01 de l'Etang de Chaltrait traces its path through the nearby terrain. Beyond this immediate stillness, the horizon is shaped by the distant mass of the Montagne d'Avize. Visitors may wander toward the grand, storied walls of the Château de Montmort or find solitude near the Étang de la Grande Folie. Further afield, the echoes of history linger in the ruins of Le Mont-Aimé, standing watch over the expansive, chalk-rich plains.
