How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Congy

Congy rests within the serene landscape of the Marne, where the rhythmic geometry of cereal plains meets the soft, chalky earth. Nearby, the gentle currents of la Verdonnelle flow past, while the quiet waters of the Étang des Grands Grès mirror the sky. To the horizon, the slopes rise toward le Haut Savart and the shadows of the Bois de Troncenord. Visitors may explore the enduring stone of the Menhir de l'étang de Chénevry, wander the historic grounds of the Château d'Etoges, or seek the solitude of the Abbaye Notre Dame du Reclus, all set amidst a terrain shaped by ancient geological patience.
