How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Trondes

Trondes nestles within the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, defined by the quiet flow of the Ruisseau de Vano and the rising silhouette of the Romont summit. Here, the landscape belongs to the plateau and cuesta, where the forest of le Juré reaches out to touch the fields. Visitors can explore the nearby Fort de Lucey, a silent witness to the region's defensive past, or seek the architectural grace of the Château de Boucq. Further afield, the Cathédrale Saint-Étienne stands as a monumental anchor in the wider countryside, reflecting the red ochre stone and enduring character of this storied Meurthe-et-Moselle land.
