How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Fresne-le-Plan

Fresne-le-Plan sits quietly within the Vexin Normand, a landscape defined by the soft, diffused light that once beckoned painters to these fields. The surroundings are shaped by the bocage, where thick hedges enclose wet pastures, and the presence of les Câtelaines woodland nearby adds a sense of ancient depth to the terrain. While the Seine winds through the wider countryside, the horizon is marked by the distant Mont Picot and the Falaises de l'Andelle. Visitors can explore the nearby Château de Martainville, a striking piece of local architecture, or seek out the historical intrigue of the Menhir dit la Pierre Saint-Martin before finding quiet contemplation at the Musée Michelet.
