How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Fenioux

Fenioux sits nestled in the quiet landscape of Deux-Sèvres, where the river le Fenioux traces its gentle path through the surrounding fields. The nearby Bois de Brusson marks the horizon, offering a subtle contrast to the open plains that stretch toward the distant Parc Naturel Régional du Marais Poitevin. In the wider countryside, the stone walls of the Château du Coudray-Salbart stand as silent, ruined witnesses to the passage of time. Further afield, the Centre Minier de Faymoreau preserves the echoes of industry, while the Château Renaissance de Coulonges sur l'Autize reveals the elegant geometry of a past era, grounded in the limestone earth of Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
