How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Montignac

Montignac sits quietly within the verdant heart of the Gironde, a landscape defined by the gentle flow of the Ruisseau de Machique and the deep, hushed corridors of the Bois de Lagarde. Nearby, the horizon lifts toward the Puy de Cadant, while the wider countryside remains deeply connected to the Bassin de la Dordogne biosphere. Explorers might wander toward the ancient Dolmen de Curton, trace the weathered stones of the Ruines de l'église de Montarouch, or admire the commanding silhouette of the Château de Benauge, each offering a somber, rooted connection to the rolling hills and vines of this singular, atmospheric region.
