How to Use This Map / Mode d'emploi

Use the Map and Satellite buttons to switch between the street map and aerial imagery, and the + and − buttons to zoom. Click ⛶ Fullscreen for a larger view; press Escape or tap ✕ Exit Fullscreen to return.

OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.

Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.

📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.

Mode d'emploi.

About Buzignargues

Buzignargues rests within a landscape defined by the Ruisseau de Sartaut and the unfolding slopes of the Montagne d'Hortus. The air carries the sharp, clean scent of box and thyme after rain, drifting over the nearby Bois Rosier. On the horizon, the limestone heights of the Puech Carbonnier anchor a view shared by the quiet fields of Galargues. A short journey away, the rugged ruins of the Château de Montlaur stand as silent witnesses to the past, while the imposing Beffroi de Sommières and the fortress of the Château de Sommières offer a glimpse into the architectural heritage of the wider countryside.
