OFFICIAL FRENCH MAPS. The green 🔍 Search Maps button opens a second map with three base layers: OSM (OpenStreetMap), Plan IGN — France's official national map from the Institut national de l'information géographique et forestière — and Photos, the IGN's aerial photography. Two overlays go over any of them: Contours, the IGN's contour lines, and Relief, hillshading from the RGE ALTI one-metre terrain model. The search box finds any place in France or beyond by name.
Click Grid to overlay the UTM grid — one-kilometre squares at normal zoom. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance plus the grid, true and magnetic bearing.
📍 My position takes a single GPS reading and shows it as an MGRS reference, as plain UTM, as Lambert-93 (the French national grid, EPSG:2154) and as latitude and longitude, with a Copy position button. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not.
Mode d'emploi.

Missècle rests quietly within the rolling hills of the Tarn, a landscape defined by golden wheat and sunflowers under the dry heat of an Occitan noon. The Ruisseau d'Empouillé meanders through this pastoral expanse, while the nearby Bois de la Capelle offers a shaded retreat of oak and light. Beyond the village, the countryside reveals its storied past through the imposing Château de Lézignac and the elegant Château de Serres, both reminders of a heritage built from brick and pink terracotta. Further afield, the distant profile of Puech Aymié marks the horizon, framing a land of quiet beauty and ancient stones.
