The landscape here is defined by a slow, deliberate dampness, as the land forms a significant portion of the Tickenham, Nailsea and Kenn Moors SSSI. Here, the light catches the reeds and grasses in a way that makes the sky seem closer to the earth than in the bustling streets of neighbouring towns. A short distance to the west, the Parish Brook moves with a heavy, muted purpose through the flat fields, draining the water from the saturated soil. West End remains a place of singular, quiet endurance, where the agricultural character of the moors dictates the pace of the day.
