It lies 1.9 miles west of Shanklin (from Shanklin: bearing 278°T, OS grid SZ 551 815), and is situated east-south-east of Sandford village. A short walk south-south-west brings one to the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, where the rhythmic, melancholic braying of animals echoes against the stillness of the surrounding pasture.
