La Fiumara Ancinale scorre presso l'abitato, dominato dalla sagoma del Timpone Tondo. Il paesaggio è segnato dalla vicinanza del Parco Naturale Regionale Serre, dove l'aria si fa rarefatta e profuma di bosco. Nei pressi si trova il Santuario Regionale di Santa Maria nel Bosco, luogo di grande valore archeologico, e il Museo delle reali ferriere borboniche, che racconta l'antica attività siderurgica locale. Poco lontano, la cima di Monte Cucco osserva i sentieri che attraversano questa parte solitaria e silenziosa della regione.
