Petrone I is a small hamlet located in the hill country of the Frosinone province, integrated into the wider comune of Sora. The Fiume Liri flows directly through the settlement, its waters moving steadily through the landscape towards the nearby Fiume Fibreno. Looking out from the slopes, the profiles of Colle Menghitto and Colle Sant'Angelo define the horizon, while the Grotta delle Monache remains a silent presence nearby. Within Sora, the Co-Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta commands the urban center, complemented by the meditative stillness of the Abbazia Casamari and the dramatic force of the Great Waterfall of Isola del Liri a short distance away.
