Reading the map like an IGM sheet. Click Grid to lay a labelled UTM grid over the map, quoted along the edges the way a printed IGM 1:25 000 tavoletta quotes it — at normal zoom the squares are one kilometre across, so a six-figure reference can be read by eye and distance judged straight off the map. Click Measure and tap two points for the distance between them with the grid, true and magnetic bearings, the last being the one to set on a compass.
Click 📍 My position for a single GPS fix. It marks where you are and reports it as Gauss-Boaga (the grid printed on the IGM Carta d'Italia), as ETRS89 / UTM (the grid Italy uses today), and as plain latitude and longitude, with a copy button so it can be pasted into a message. It takes one reading and stops, to save the battery. Map tiles need mobile coverage; a GPS reading does not — so the grid reference stays correct in the Apennines and the Alps, where the map itself often will not load.

Arsoli sits within a quiet hill landscape, where the air feels sharp and thin, cooling as it moves down from the heights of Colle Alto. The surrounding land is shaped by the nearby Sorgente Lieto, which feeds the local earth, while the rugged silhouettes of Monte Rosa and Monte Velino define the distant skyline. Within the village itself, the Fosso Bagnatore cuts a narrow path, and the stately Castello Massimo commands a quiet presence over the streets. The village rhythm is defined by a deliberate pace, far removed from the bustle of the larger valleys.
Beyond the immediate village, the landscape opens toward the protected expanse of the Monti Simbruini. A visitor might find the Castello di Oricola, which watches over the terrain from a nearby vantage, or travel toward the Santuario della Madonna dei Bisognosi, set against the slopes. The local Boschetto offers a shaded retreat, while the presence of the Fiume Aniene flowing a few kilometres away provides a constant, low-frequency sound to the region. It is a place of stone and light, where the horizon is always marked by the grey summits of the range.

Explore Arsoli, Roma, Italy, with an embedded Google street and satellite map — switch between the two with the buttons on the map. Coordinates: 42.041428, 13.016342. Place names, the comune and provincia hierarchy and the population come from Istat: the administrative boundaries of 1 January 2026 and the 2021 census of inhabited localities. Local and world news feeds keep the page current, and the bilingual description is written from the data this site holds rather than copied from elsewhere. The 30 nearby places listed above are drawn from OpenStreetMap, the IGM toponym database and a curated list checked against Wikipedia.
Search Maps opens a second, independent map. It searches OpenStreetMap for any Italian comune, frazione, mountain or landmark by name; overlays a labelled UTM grid quoted the way a printed IGM 1:25 000 tavoletta quotes it; measures distance with grid, true and magnetic bearings between any two points; and takes a single GPS fix reporting your position as a Gauss-Boaga reference, as ETRS89 / UTM, and as latitude and longitude. Map tiles need mobile coverage, but a GPS position does not, so the grid reference stays correct where the map cannot load.
There is no topographic layer on these pages. The Istituto Geografico Militare serves its Carta d'Italia only inside the EU, so an Italian equivalent of the 1:25 000 walking sheet cannot be shown here — the UTM grid over OpenStreetMap is what stands in its place.
