Nesso occupies a quiet position where the land falls sharply toward the Ramo di Como, a branch of the Lago di Como. The air here holds the dampness of the water and the cool breath of the Valle di Nosè, which carves its way through the nearby hills. Above the village, the landscape rises toward the Dosso del Castel, while the Valle Colmenace runs through the settlement, its stream feeding the deep waters below. The light shifts quickly across these steep slopes, turning the grey stone of the houses into a pale, reflective silver as the day progresses.
Within the village, the Chiesa di Santa Maria di Vico holds a simple presence, grounded by the steady rhythm of the surrounding mountains. A short walk reveals the Orrido di Nesso, where the water forces its way through a narrow rock chasm before meeting the lake. Beyond the immediate village, one may find the ruins of Sant'Eufemia or climb toward the height of Monte Colmegnone. These paths offer a view of the wider countryside, framed by the distant, jagged shapes of the Grigna Meridionale and Grigna Settentrionale on the horizon.
