Reading the map like an IGM sheet. Piano is a small village within the comune of Faedo Valtellino, occupying a position where the air feels thin and sharp, carrying the scent of the nearby Valle Albadina. The landscape is defined by the protected woodland of the Riserva Naturale Orientata Bosco dei Bordighi, which wraps around the village, while the distant, imposing presence of Monte Disgrazia marks the horizon. Close by, the ruins of Castel Grumello overlook the slopes, and a short journey leads to the solid stone walls of Castel Masegra. Further along the valley, the Santuario della Sassella watches over the winding path of the Fiume Adda, grounded in a quiet, rugged terrain.
