Gallodoro rests on the slopes of Serro Grossoli and Monte Castellaccio, looking out from its hill toward the distant shimmer of the coast near Letojanni. The air here holds the dry, sharp clarity of the Sicilia interior, where the wind carries the scent of the nearby Valle d’Agrò. Below, the Fiumara d’Agro winds through the landscape, a thin vein of stone and water. A short distance away, the ruins of Castello di Forza d’Agrò command the ridge, while the walls of Castello di Sant'Alessio watch over the shoreline. Further off, the stark outline of Monte Etna defines the southern horizon, its presence felt in every change of light.
