Avigna is a small village within the comune of San Genesio Atesino, cradled in the mountain air of the Val Sarentina. The landscape is defined by the Eggerquelle and Nockerbach springs that flow through the settlement, feeding the land before the waters reach the nearby Torrente Talvera. On the skyline, the Gruppo del Catinaccio watches over the valley. Nearby, the ruins of Alt-Weineck and Rovine Castel Avigna offer a quiet glimpse of the past, while the more imposing structure of Castel Roncolo remains a short distance away. The light here shifts sharply, sharpening the edges of the high slopes.
