Naseby occupies a high, windswept ridge in Northamptonshire that catches the first light of dawn across the flat, open expanse of the East Midlands. It lies 6.5 miles south-south-west of Market Harborough (from Market Harborough: bearing 206°T, OS grid SP 689 779), and is situated west-north-west of Haselbech village. The terrain here rises sharply to meet the sky, defined by the broad, brooding plateau of the Registered Battlefield of 1645 where the fate of a kingdom once turned upon the grass. To the north, the elevation of Mill Hill commands a view of the surrounding ironstone soil, a landscape that remains austere and indifferent to the echoes of musket fire. Naseby maintains a stoic character, its stone cottages hunkered against the persistent winds that sweep unchecked across the fields.
